Roll call of organisations the proud Australian Army marched with on 2 March, 2013

This blog is dedicated to the Deputy Chief of the Australian Army, Major General Angus Campbell. Angus is an avid reader of the blog and is the only person who has taken the time to actually put pen to paper and write to me about its contents.

Thank you Angus.

On 2 March, 2013, the proud Australian Army took time out to participate in a political rally to support gay marriage and other initiatives of the alphabet soup known as the LBGTI community.

Here are just some of the other organisations the Australian Army paraded with on its trend-setting journey down Oxford Street, Sydney:

Body Electric Inc.
Body Electric Inc. advertises courses for men to explore ‘erotic massage skills, self-pleasuring and other intimate body awareness’, ‘explore full-body orgasm without ejaculation’ and ‘spanking, bondage & flogging’.

Perth Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence
The Perth Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence are a group of men who like dressing up as nuns and bishops while campaigning for sexual licentiousness. They also like mocking Jesus Christ and the Catholic Church.

Miss Gay & Miss Transsexual Australia
Miss Gay & Miss Transsexual Australia conducts beauty pageants for gay men, cross-dressers, drag queens and transsexuals.

Girlthing
Girlthing consisted of a group of girls whose thing was to take their tops off and expose their breasts in public. Remember they, just like the Australian Army, paraded in front of children who had been brought along for the show.

Sydney Leather Pride Assoc. Inc
Sydney Leather Pride Assoc. Inc. promotes ‘fetish or esoteric sexual practices’ and runs courses and interactive workshops in sexual bondage with leather, chains and ropes. Its own Mardi Gras description helpfully informed the public that it was an organisation for ‘perverts’.

Harbour City Bears
Harbour City Bears is a community group for hairy, gay men and their supporters. It is proud to advertise parties in which hairy, gay men start with nothing on but their undies.

Save Assange Wikileaks Coalition
Save Assange Wikileaks Coalition is campaigning politically for Julian Assange. You might remember that he is the bloke who has published hundreds of thousands of classified documents relating to military operations in Iraq and Afghanistan, potentially endangering the lives of Australian soldiers.

Australian Marriage Equality
A political group lobbying for gay marriage. No doubt the Australian Army gave them a great photo opportunity for future political activity.

I’ll leave it to you to decide the value derived from having the apolitical and taxpayer funded Australian Defence Force partake in activities with such groups.

In the interests of decency, I have not included any images or links to the above groups – I have made the value judgment that they do not deserve a place on this webpage.

All I can say, Angus, is that I hope you can hold your head up high. You have supported something that no other Deputy Chief of Army has. Well done.

  1. Our army is not political and nor crusaders for minority groups or even to select sides of the political equation so what was our army doing being part of the homosexual parade?

  2. Just what is the ADF thinking about allowing or ordering their personnel to march in a Mardi Gras parade. The majority of people who attend these events will admit that they go just for a laugh and certainly not in support of the organisers of the events. The ADF should not be advocating support or defence of social issues and certainly should not be ordering our soldiers (who would volunteer for such an assignment?) to open themselves to ridicule by marching alongside deviants in society. Our diggers and their families have made temendous sacrifices to secure their honoured and revered place in history and I can only imagine that they would be turning in their graves at the decisions of the ADF to open our soldiers to the hilarity and ridicule of the public who come to view such spectacles.

  3. Bernard, Thank you for your expose of this nonsense. I also fail to see how the presence of the ADF at the Mardi Gras does anything at all, for the ADF. I can see how it might help legitimise and encourage all those fringe groups who would like to imagine they are “normal”. It ill behoves the ADF and its leaders to have the ADF used in this way, thereby lowering the esteem of the ex-members and citizenry of the nation. God help us from the looney liberals of Australia.

  4. How the mighty have fallen! The once respected ADF reduced to posturing with promoters of perversity. It’s pitiful.

  6. Got anything to say on the economy, education or health that doesn’t involve picking on minority group? Not one word from you about anything of substance. Give it up. You’re irrelevant.

  7. Disgraceful conduct those in command by promoting such crash behaviour. This general has lost the plot. As an ex infantry soldier i would not want these guys to have my back in difficult situation. Corrupting young soldiers is not editifying for military personnel by marching in support of such organisations as listed. The military should not in support of such things as this is not their mandate and what the people of Australia expects from the generals and soldiers. Shame on the generals and those in command.
