Hollywood is a cesspit

Can someone please explain to me how this is fine and dandy:

Before Maggie Gyllenhaal agreed to play Candy, a Times Square prostitute in the 1970s-set HBO series “The Deuce,” she had one condition: She needed to be a producer on the series too…

…“It was for insurance, and I never had to use my insurance,” says the actress, 39, relaxing at a Brooklyn cafe after a long photo shoot. The process ended up being intensely collaborative, with Simon writing, at Gyllenhaal’s suggestion, a memorable scene of Candy masturbating.

But this is not:

Harvey Weinstein once trapped a woman in the hallway of a restaurant that was closed to the public and masturbated in front of her until he ejaculated, she says. The accusation comes a day after Weinstein was the subject of a bombshell New York Times report that revealed that he has settled at least eight sexual harassment claims.

Maggie Gyllenhaal might not have trapped another in an elevator and engaged in sordid and indecent behaviour in front of them. Instead, she’s happy beaming herself doing exactly the same thing into homes all over the planet.

Hollywood is a cesspit full of hypocrites, narcissists and fabulously rich but morally-bankrupt virtue signalers who work on a daily basis to promote vice. No one can be surprised at the antics of Weinstein – the entire ‘industry’ he works in prides itself on filming exactly what he is alleged to have done in the elevator…
