When it comes to education these days, grammar is overrated. But dealing with breasts or nagging mums who breach human rights by forcing children to pack their own school bags is not. Twelve year old students are being asked to read the letters below, penned by an imaginary teenager:
Then they are required to, as the task description states, ‘respond to a teenagers letter of concern’. See:
Obviously one can understand why teachers have given up on apostrophes. When twelve year old kids afflicted with raging puberty are being asked to write letters about breasts, apostrophes are so like whatever, dude.
As an aside, I’m sure the Safe Schools program will provide sufficient materials to ensure that no child feels like a little kid anymore…
